Today’s technology has a lot to offer.  For years we have been using road maps and atlases to get us around, although today we use something even better, a GPS.  What exactly is a GPS?  GPS stands for “global positioning system.”  These are run by satellite units that know where you are at all times.  They have many benefits to them and keep us from getting lost.  If you’ve been thinking about getting a GPS for your vehicle, be sure to check out the many benefits below to see why they are so great to have.

Everyday Use – GPS’ come in handy on a daily basis when driving.  They show you how far away you are from your destination, the roads you need to take to get there, and show you a map of where you’re driving at that exact minute.

Getting Lost – When you have a GPS you never have to worry about getting lost again.  They can speak aloud and tell you where to go or they can tell you where to go based on a map.  Since a GPS knows where you’re at all the time, your chances of getting lost are close to nothing.  It tells you where to turn, where to go next, and where you’re at the very second you’re driving.

Destinations – Most GPS’ today even tell you where all the nearest places you’re looking for are.  Whether you’re looking for a gas station, a certain restaurant or a hotel, you’ll be able to find the nearest with your GPS.  You can look for almost everything on your GPS.  This comes in very handy if you’re in a foreign area and need to stop at a specific place.  Just simply type in the place that you’re looking for and you’ll be there within minutes!

Vacations – GPS’ are great for when you go on vacations!  If you’re driving from lets say Michigan to Florida, a GPS comes in very handy.  It tells you every single road to take, how to get there and how far you have from your destination.  If you take driven vacations often, you should definitely consider getting a GPS.

Construction – Most GPS’ also make sure you take routes that are construction free.  This is a wonderful thing because if you’re taking a vacation and you’re not familiar with the area, it will take care of all the construction for you.  Never go through construction again!

There are so many benefits of getting a GPS for your vehicle.  You can’t go wrong with them since they are always helping you out.  If you’ve been thinking about getting one, ask yourself if you’d want all the things listed above and you’ll have an answer in no time.

Surely you’ve heard the horror stories surrounding buying cars from car dealerships. You’ve heard stories about people being practically stalked by salesmen, getting cheated, or the car not working very well, etc. It may even be enough to deter you from trying to buy from a dealership, but you shouldn’t let it. There are some things you can do to ensure that all goes well as you work on buying your new car. You always want to be careful when negotiating with a dealership, if you want everything to go smoothly. Here are some tips for buying a car from a dealership.

First of all, don’t assume that all dealerships are going to be hell. There are many out there that are sure to be great places to be, with wonderful service, and great vehicles. It is the ones that aren’t that you have to worry about. Even then, don’t allow yourself to get too angry when something goes wrong, it isn’t the end of the world, and everything will work out in the end. Just deal with the situation at hand and everything will be fine.

Second of all, remember that car salesmen are people too, even if they don’t always act like it. They are trying to earn a living the same as you are, and they deserve the same amount of respect as you do, they are just doing their jobs. If they start to act like they are trying to cheat, it is best to just leave the situation. There is no point in continuing to talk to somebody whose only interest is to cheat you, unless you have your heart set on a car.

Be sure to know how much you’re expecting to pay, and don’t allow yourself to be swindled. Be firm, yet don’t be rude, they have no reason to try to help somebody who is being rude. Always try to be on their side, and understanding who they are. Being friendly is always helpful in getting a good deal; they will want to help more generally.

These are some tips for buying a car at a dealership. Hopefully, everything will work out well, and things will go as expected. If possible, ask somebody who has also been to the dealership that you’re going to how the service is and such. There is no reason that buying a car from a dealership has to be an unpleasant experience.

I’m sure that the Saturn Vue has gotten a lot of attention; it is altogether a very good car. According to many, including myself, it is a very good looking car. They have gotten a lot of good reviews, and have pretty good gas mileage. You see quite a lot of them out prowling the streets during the day, and maybe you’ve decided that you want one too, as you think that it is a very nice car. Here are some tips about buying a 2007 Saturn Vue, things that should be done when buying this car, and some things to be careful of when buying this car.

First of all, decide if you want to buy it new or used. Due to the fact that this is a newer model, there won’t be as many used cars. You’ll also want to decide exactly what Vue you want to buy, what color, what features, and all that. Once you’ve decided exactly what you want, go out there and try to find the best price for it.

Make sure you’re getting exactly what you want; you never want to compromise too much when buying a car. Whether you’re buying a new or used car, always be careful that you don’t get ripped off, as in the care sales world this happens quite a bit. Love the car before you buy it, be certain that it is what you really want. Also, beware of the Saturn dealerships; they can be a bit ridiculous there. When buying a Vue for my family, they spent nine hours fiddling around and just generally not helping us. It took quite a while before we actually got our car.

In addition, the Vue has a green line of hybrids. They cost a few thousand dollars more, but if the environment is something that you truly care about, they may be an option. They are apparently just as nice as the regular Vue, if not more so. They could be a great car for you, and they may even be worth it considering the price of gas.

These are some tips for choosing and buying a 2007 Saturn Vue. This is truly a very nice car, and hopefully you will consider it. Hopefully, these tips were helpful, and will help on your journey of buying a new car. Just remember these tips, and hopefully you will get through this smoothly.

Even in these difficult economic times, a good portion of the population will be in the market for a new car. Before stepping through the doors of your favorite automobile dealership, though, take the time to find and review your credit scores. Consumers with good credit will find the car buying experience much more pleasant.

What are credit scores anyway? They are three digit numbers ranging from 300 to 850 that are based on a variety of factors. First, they are developed through a review of your payment patterns. Are you the type of person who routinely makes payments 30 to 60 days late? This fiscal approach immediately lowers your score significantly. Automobile financers ask themselves this question: “Who wants a customer that consistently pays late?”

In fact, when you got to apply for a loan, it really becomes a question of risk management on behalf of the lender. The decision to offer you, the consumer, any loan at all – and the rate of interest your loan will be set at – is also based on the information that the credit bureaus keep on file about you. It is a sort of financial biography of your life from the moment you become a credit using person in this country. Past due bills, defaults and other negative information is kept on file for seven years. Conversely, timely credit card payments and other appropriate credit uses are also available.

As this new information changes is filed, your credit score will tend to also change as well. While savvy credit users maintain a constant vigilance on their credit scores most people are unaware of even their existence. The single most advantageous approach to improving a credit score is securing a credit card and making timely monthly payments.

Consider this example. Gentleman A and Gentleman B both walk into a dealership to purchase the same automobile. Both decide they will purchase a new car for about $18.000 and would like to finance it for 36 months. When Gentleman A sit down with the finance department they discover he has a 710 credit score so he is offered a loan at 7.328% APR loan which translates to about a $550 monthly payment. Gentleman B’s credit score is a mere 510 and he is offered a car loan at 13.5 % APR. His monthly payment is about $650.

As you can see a lower credit score means a higher final price tag when buying used cars.

Fuel economy is on everyone’s mind these days.  It gets harder and harder to put that credit card into the gas pump because we know it’s going to cost a fortune, and we’ll have to pull out the credit card again in another week or less.  If you are in the market for a new car, you may be interested in knowing which cars rated at the top of the US Department of Energy’s list as the most fuel efficient cars in America.

Best Fuel Economy – Overall

Put your credit card away for another week or two because with 60mpg city / 66 mpg hwy, the Honda Insight Hybrid is the most fuel efficient car in America.  The Insight achieves the surprisingly high miles per gallon not only because it runs partly on batteries, but because it has done things like reducing the drag (how hard a car has to work to cut through wind when it is driving), and putting low resistance tires on the car as a standard feature.  It’s not a family car by any means and it will certainly draw some attention.  Take a look at one on the internet to see why.

Best Fuel Economy – Mid-size

So you took a look at the Insight and decided you are better off using the credit card weekly than strapping your child to the roof anytime you want to go somewhere.  Don’t give up yet.  The Toyota Prius Hybrid gets a whopping 60 / 51 mpg and will fit a child, two parents, a guest and a dog inside.  The Prius is a very popular hybrid car because of the fuel efficiency as well as the fact that the Prius is comfortable and handles quite well.

Best Fuel Economy – Large Car

At 24 / 34 mpg, the Hyundai Sonata sneaks in as the large car with the best fuel economy in America.  The Sonata is large and roomy, and offers a very comfortable ride.  One owner of a Sonata Luxury Edition says that her family, including her husband who owns a Honda Civic, would prefer to ride in the comfort of the Sonata to the more fuel efficient Civic for any trip that will take more than a half an hour.  This owner was apparently oblivious to the fact that she was getting the best fuel economy in America for a car of that size.

Other winning fuel efficient cars of note are the Honda Civic Hybrid (49 / 51 mpg) as the best fuel economy – compact car, the Volkswagon New Beetle Diesel (37 / 44 mpg) in the subcompact car category, and the Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe (30 / 36 mpg), both are basically the same car, in the station wagon category.

Are you ready to put your credit card away now and go shopping for a new fuel efficient car?  When you are, be sure to test drive all of the cars on this list and make a smart, green, eco-friendly, and most of all, wallet friendly choice.
