I’ve talked about government auto auctions in the past and I continue to talk about them today because people don’t realize how good of deal you can get when it comes down to buying from the government. Yes, I know when you think of the government, you think of bad things but there are things that they do that can help you greatly! (yes, I know, sounds too good but read on.)
Today, I want to show you on how you can find the best deal on a car when you’re looking to purchase used. Did you know that you can potentially save up to 90% when buying a used car for your local government? The only hard part is finding that car. Why do the dirty work when I will do it all for you.
Know where to do your search
The first place you need to head is GovAuctions. Yes, it’s going to cost you a smaller fee but I absolutely love this website. They are going to do all the dirty work for you when it comes down to finding the car you want. Click on the car you want along with your zip code and it will come back with the cars and prices in your area. You will get listings from the IRS, DEA, FBI, Police Departments and more. Many of these auctions start at $100 and trust me, the fee is worth it!
Know how to bid
When it comes down to online bidding, there are a few things that you can do when it comes to bidding. Make sure that you read the auction details because sometimes its done all online while others, you have to show up in person. Yes, they both have their downfalls but regardless of how the auction is done, you can show up at the spot of the cars and look at them personally. 99% of the time, the auction listing will tell you exactly what’s wrong with the car, so that you’re not in for a shock when you buy it and take it home.
Always inspect the car
If you’re truly interested in the car, I would recommend you head on down to the spot where the car is. This will give you a better idea on what it looks like and how it runs. You most likely won’t be able to test drive but once again, like I said, you’ll be able to see a detailed description on what works and doesn’t.
When it comes down to government auction auctions, I highly recommend you check out GovAuctions. It’s a great site that lists a ton of car listings and its all for a great low price.
