Do you feel like your car has been neglected, and could use a little work when it comes to cleaning?  If so, you want to give your car the ultimate car wash.  By taking care of the exterior you’re making your car look newer longer, and are protecting it from rusting, and the typical wear and tear.  If you’re looking to give your car a car wash, consider a few of these tips when doing so!

Scrub - First of all, you’re going to want to scrub off all the grime on your car.  Try to get bugs, bird poop, sap, etc off your car beforehand.  Get some spray that will take all of these nasty things off.

Rinse – Now, you’re going to want to rinse your car.  This is just a simple power wash to help get your car wet and to remove some of the grime that was on your car.

Wash – Next, you want to wash your car.  Get a nice foamy sponge, and some soap and really wipe down your car.  Keep spraying so it doesn’t dry on your vehicle.  Make sure you rub every spot on your car.

Rinse – Now you can rinse your car of all the soap.  Make sure you don’t have any left on or it will harden on you vehicle.  Soak your car, and be sure to open your doors and get along the bottom.  That part tends to rust easily.  So, if you take care of it you’ll see less of that.

Wipe – Once you’re done rinsing, let it air dry and drip for a few minutes.  Now, get a rag and wipe it dry to avoid any water spots.

Wax – After your car is completely dry, you will want to wax it.  Wax is the best thing for your car’s exterior.  Not only does it make it shiny and smooth, but it protects the exterior from every day wear, sun, and rust.

Touch up – Once you’re done waxing, you will want to touch up any spots you can.  Whether you fix the little paint chips, or you wipe your windows clean, you will want to make sure you fix the last touches to complete your final touch.

saving on gasGas prices are either expensive, or it’s really reasonable.  The thing that I know is that the gas prices are like a roller coaster.  They are constantly going up, and down.  When they are down, people are happy, but when they are up, the news is all over it, and it’s never-ending complaining.

I wanted to give you a few simple tips that you can take in order to save on gas today.    No matter how high or low gas prices are, it’s always important that you watch your savings.

Start with a gas credit cardIf you don’t know how a gas credit card works, I’ll give you a quick low down.  These cards are designed for those that are looking to save at the gas station.  Every time that you fill up, you’re going to save a percentage.  This percentage ranges anywhere from 1% to 10%.  Make sure that you pay your card off in full each month, so that you can avoid those pesky interest rates.

Look to your local grocery store – The grocery store in my area has a great reward program that goes along with their gas station.  Every time you spend $100 at the grocery store, I’ll get 10 cents off per gallon.  These rewards add up fast, and I’ve found that many stores across the United States use a system like this.  Check with your local grocery chain to see if you can save.

Watch your driving habits - The way you drive can determine your MPG.  If you’re not driving the right way, or driving a little fast, you may be wasting more gas than you want.  A while ago, I wrote a great article on 50 ways to save on gas today.

The one thing that you want to look out for when looking to save on gas are the scams.  Watch out for the water to gas techniques, as any others that sound too good to be true.  Remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.

Wiper blades are a very important thing to take care of and to keep an eye out for.  If you don’t have good windshield wipers, you might as well have glasses that are dirty, because either way you won’t be able to see!  Not changing your wiper blades when they need it can cause accidents, you not being able to see, and stress.

Windshield wipers are neglected majorly by car drivers.  Often you will find that cars have torn, splitting, and wipers that are falling apart.  Don’t let this be your case.  Windshield wipers are very inexpensive, and good ones are a must.  You don’t want to mess with your safety!  So, now we know not to keep awful wipers, how often should we replace them?  Is there a time frame that we should look out for?

Which Ever Comes First:

Worn – If your windshield wipers are worn, smudging, and are ripped then you know it’s time to change them.  At this point, you don’t even need to wait until a certain amount of time because they’re long overdue!

Time – Experts say that you should change your windshield wipers every 6 months +.  You know you’ve waited too long if your windshield wipers aren’t working properly, look like they’re falling apart, and aren’t cleaning your windshield.  You should always prevent that from happening.  When you start to see the slightest smudge, I recommend that you get new ones.  Otherwise, you will wait too long, and not be able to see clearly.  Not to mention, people put it on their to due list, and wait until they can’t see anymore

Getting your windshield wipers changed every 6 months or when they need it is an important maintenance you need to keep up with when it comes to your car.  As stated earlier, they are inexpensive, and can be found at a lot of different stores, or found on the Internet!
