300204_wheelOnce we hear that there is a recall, we always hope that it’s not going to affect us.  We just don’t want to go through the hassle of getting some fixed, replaced and taking the time to get it looked at.  Although, unfortunately Toyota has done a number that is affecting more than 3 millions cars.  These cars have a recall on them and need to be looked at once the people get the noticed.

If you drive a Toyota and you haven’t received the recall in the mail or have been contacted you probably don’t have to worry about all of this.  Although, just to make sure here is a list of some of the vehicles that have been recalled.

Toyota vehicles that have been recalled:

  • Toyota Camry (2007-2010)
  • Toyota Avalon (2005-2010)
  • Toyota Prius (2004-2009)
  • Toyota Tacoma (2005-2010)
  • Toyota Tundra (2007-2010)
  • Lexus ES350 (2007-2010)
  • Lexus IS250 and IS350 (2006-2010)

As you can see, there are quite a few different cars that have been recalled.  These cars range from Toyota to the Lexus’.  If your vehicle falls into this list, you may want to contact a dealership and see if yours might need to be looked at.

So what’s the recall for?

There might be millions of vehicles that have been recalled (3.8 million to be exact), but to be honest, it’s something pretty simple.  What the company wants is for the drivers of the vehicles to simply take out the floor mats.  Why?  It is been said that they might get close to the accelerator and get stuck leaving the pedal to be pushed accidentally.  So, for now you will want to remove your floor mat in the driver’s seat until they come up with something that is going to solve the problem.  We’re not sure how long this is going to take.  Although, thankfully it’s something as simple as a floor mat and something that doesn’t affect how the car drives!

Choosing a car that we like, is different than thinking about a car that is practical and worth every penny.  There is a lot to think about when buying a new car.  First of all, it will probably be the second most expensive thing we’ll ever buy, and will be with us for a long time.  Therefore, there should be a lot of thought put into this decision.

What people don’t consider is what the insurance rates will be like.  It would be nice to get a new sports car, but is worth what you’ll pay in insurance rates?  Make sure you think about the pros and cons before you start to sign any of those papers!

When it comes to picking out a new vehicle there is a lot to think about.  First of all, we want to make sure it is worth every penny, has the features we like, a gas mileage we’re satisfied with, and is something we’re satisfied with overall.  Buying a car will most likely be the second most expensive thing we’ll ever buy (after our house being number one.), therefore it is important to really do your research before you sign any papers.  That is a lot to look for in a car!  Although, what most people don’t consider when shopping for a new car is what the insurance will be like.

The cost to insure your vehicle is based on a lot of different things.  It could be how much your car is worth, how many problems your kind of car will have, how much it costs to fix the damages to your vehicle, etc.

So, before you start shopping for your “dream” car, or perhaps your next car, you may want to factor in what insurance will be like to insure your vehicle.  There are a lot of different vehicles that are known to be the “worst” to insure.  Do you fall into this top 10?
