1226006_moneyAre you shopping for a new car?  If so, you want to remember that the purchase you’re going to make will be one of the most expensive purchases you’ll ever make.  Not only can buying a home break you, but so can a new car.

Cars aren’t cheap these days, so it’s important to get the best vehicle for your money.  Find something with a good resale value, good gas mileage, good amount of space and something that you can rely on.  Listed below are the vehicles known to give you the best bang for your buck.

Sports Car - If you’re looking for a sporty car, you definitely want to consider this beauty!  The Ford Mustang is better than ever, faster than ever, and the style brings back a new sleek look from the previous models.

Gas Mileage – If you’re looking for a reliable, every day, non-gas guzzler then consider the Toyota Prius!  The Prius has a nice pick up that goes 0-60 in just 10 seconds, gets 40/51 MPG, and is great for the environment and your pocket!

Luxury SUV – Are you looking to splurge on a nice luxury SUV?  If so, be sure to consider the Audi Q7 or the BMW X5.  They both get about the same gas mileage, cost the same, and have a lot of the same great features.

Performance Sedan – There are several great performance sedans on the market but if you’re looking for the best, it’s clearly the Infiniti G37!  It wins due to it’s speed, performance, price, horsepower, and space.

Pick-up Truck – Are you looking for the best pick-up truck?  If so, the Ford 150 has been known as one of the best pick-up trucks on the market for years.  The style, price, space, towing capacity, and the fuel efficiency are great!

When buying a car, you should always keep in mind that this is probably going to be your second biggest and most expensive purchase besides your home.  If you find a car you like, you should research the common problems with it, how long they last, how much they run for, how much they can be sold for, etc.

There are several cars on this market that great resale values and cars that have horrible resale values.  If you want to make sure you avoid the cars with the worst value once they’re used, be sure to skip out on the cars listed below!

Cars With The Worst Value:

Chrysler Sebring Convertible – Not only do you need perfect weather to even use the convertible part, but this is thought of as a more “upgraded” car.  Not everyone wants a convertible.  Actually, most people prefer a sedan or coupe over a convertible due to safety reasons and less break ins.

Kia Sedona – Kia is more of an affordable car to begin with.  So, you’re going to spend an affordable amount to begin with, you can’t expect much when you sell it used.

Kia Optima Sedan – This is a great car to choose when it comes to style and gas mileage, but the resale value may scare you away.

Kia Spectra Sedan – You can buy a brand new Spectra at a starting price of just $13,000!  So, once you take it off the lot, rack up the miles, and put the normal wear and tear into this car, most people would rather just buy new for the quality.

Dodge Grand Caravan – Vans are popular vehicles, but not everyone needs one.  They say that cars loose 20% of their value once they’re driven off the lot.  Not to mention, they loose up to 65% of their value in five years.  That means this car looses up to about 80% of it’s value.  This is even more true when it comes to the Caravan.

Buying a car with a bad resale value may be bad or may not even matter.  If you plan on buying a car to stick with and run it into the ground, what do you care?  Although, if you’re someone who likes a new vehicle every couple years, you may want to stay away from these vehicles because you won’t get much money back.
