Purchasing a Hybrid CarWhether you’re in the market for a new car or you’re just curious about how a Hybrid can help you and your wallet, there are many advantages to a Hybrid car that your typical conventional car doesn’t have.  I’m going to show you three main points today that can hopefully influence you to at least check out a Hybrid the next time you go car shopping.

You Get a Tax Incentive

The first thing we should stress is that Hybrids can be expensive when you look at the sticker price but did you know that you can get a tax incentive from the government?  Depending on the car you purchase will depend on the type of tax break that you get.  For example, purchasing a Toyota Prius will allow you to get a tax credit for over $3,000 for the year.  In order to the get the tax break for the car you’re looking at, either ask the dealership you’re purchasing it from or ask your accountant.

Hybrids Help The Environment

If you’re a fan of the helping the environment, your best bet is to purchase a Hybrid.  Since Hybrids generally emit lower emissions compared to your conventional car, your Hybrid is going to burn less gas.  In the long haul, less gas means less pollution and less carbon dioxide that is released into the air.

You Save On Gas

Everyone should know by now that a Hybrid model is going to save you more money in the long run.  In my opinion, I think that if you do a lot of driving every year, you’re going to want to get a Hybrid because it will make up for the higher sticker price.  If you only drive a few thousand miles a year, you may want to stick to the more conventional model.  Most hybrids on the market get well over 30 miles per gallon and most of the time you can’t even tell the difference between a Hybrid and the conventional version.

By now, you should have a better understanding on how a Hybrid can help you and the environment.  Everyone sees upsides and downsides when it comes to purchasing one.  Like anything, make sure that you do your research when looking to purchase one.  By the time you find one, let’s hope you’re saving on gas and saving the environment all at the same time!
