As a teenager, you’re going to soon find out that you just don’t have a lot of money to invest into cars. Whether you’re a parent looking to find a car for your teen son/daughter, or maybe you’re a teenager doing the research yourself, I wanted to show you 5 cars that you should look into.
Before you just go out and write out a check for a car that’s really cheap. You’re going to find that being cheap isn’t always the option. Be sure to ask yourself the following questions when thinking about making a purchase.
- How good is the resale value?
- How reliable is this particular make/model?
- How are the ratings on Consumer’s Reports, etc?
- What does the public think of it?
- How is the KBB rating?
With that being said, here are 5 great cars that I would look into when making your decision.
#1 Honda Civic: Honda has been making this model for years. It has a high resale value, great reliability, as well as fantastic reviews from many car experts out there. Let’s not forget about the fuel efficiency getting 30+ MPG.
#2 Toyota Camry: You would think that the Corolla would be cheaper, but from what I’ve seen, you’re going to get a lot more room in a Camry and the MPG is just a tad lower than the Corolla counterpart, but you should be able to find some reasonably priced cars in your price range.
#3 VW Jetta: VW is another car that has a great resale value, as well as a great look. Many teens make the mistake of purchasing a cheaper car. They then find out that the car looks awful. Spend your money on a car that doesn’t look that bad!
#4 Kia Optima: If you purchase a Kia brand new, you’re going to get a deal. Now, if you purchase it used, you’re going to get even a better deal. Kias are great for the price. You’re going to get a nice looking car, as well as a car that really isn’t going to break the bank.
#5 Pontiac Vibe: The last car on my list is the Vibe. This hatchback type car not only looks great, its going to supply you with a lot of room. The Vibe is yet another car that has received some great reviews.
There are many cars to choose from. One list in particular that I have enjoyed reading was this Consumer Reports list. Be sure to ask those questions above, as well as research at least 5 different cars. By doing so, you should be able to find one that works for you!
