Creative Ways to Save on Gasoline
posted by FindGasCards.com
When people think of saving money on gas, they never think of things outside of the car. Most people think of ways to drive more efficient or ways to get more miles out of the tank. In order to save the most money on gasoline, you have to think outside of the box. Here’s what I mean –
Cook at home, grow a garden
Money Saved [$100/month]
As simple as it sounds, start cooking your meals at home all the time. This will cut back on the driving to the grocery store. Consider growing a garden so that you can get all your veggies from the garden itself. This will not only save on eating out and trips to the grocery store, you’ll also be eating healthier.
Pack a work lunch
Money Saved [$100/month]
Instead of driving to go out to eat when you’re at work, simply pack a brown bag lunch with the food you already have at home. If you spend $5-10 a lunch each day for five times a week, you’re spending close to $25-$50 a week. Not only will you save money on your lunches, you’ll be saving money on gas as well.
Rent Movies Online
Money Saved [$10/month]
Instead of renting your movies at your local video rental store and driving there, start renting movies from a company like Blockbuster of NetFlix. Not only will you save money on your movie rentals, you’ll never have to leave the house to get your movies. You’ll be able to avoid lines, traffic, and you’ll save on gas, it’s a big win-win situation!
Become a Homebody
Money Saved [???/month]
As boring as it sounds, if you become a homebody, you’ll be able to save a ton of money! Most human beings can’t sit at home every night and this is why they are in debt. Most people need constant entertainment where they need their friends around them 24/7. Try and get out of this habit! It doesn’t take long to condition yourself to become a homebody. Learn to watch movies from home or hang out in the backyard. You don’t need to go out to eat and a movie every night.
These are just a few creative ways you can use in order to save on gasoline. Use your own creations when it comes down to saving on gas. Think of all the places you drive to and how you can either cut back on them or get rid of it altogether.
