Credit Cards for Fuel: The Benefits
posted by FindGasCards.comLet’s face it that everyone around you probably drives a car and fills up with gas here and there. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could always get gasoline at a discount? What if I told you that you could potentially get 3-10% off per gallon every time you filled up? If this sounds too good to be true, it isn’t and let me show you how its done.
The way you can save money today is simply by using a fuel credit card. As long as you’re responsible with a credit card and you pay them off in full each and every month, you can really take advantage. The process is short, simple, and sweet. Here’s how it’s done.
Apply for a gas credit card of your choice
There are a lot of cards out there that cater to those looking to get a percentage back on their fill-ups. The question is if you want to fill up at the same brand gas station every time, or you want to fill up anywhere. Some cards will give you a percentage off on gas alone, while others make you fill up at a particular station like BP, etc.
Know your rebate
When I applied for my gas card, I wanted to make sure that I was getting the best rebate. To be honest, you’re not going to get anything better than 10% off, unless it’s a teaser rate. If you’re getting 1-2% off, you’ll probably want to do more research, because I think you can do better than that.
How do you get your rewards?
When you’re looking to cash in your rewards, how are you going to get them? Are they going to send you a gift card? Will they give you cash back? This will matter because you won’t want to build up rewards and find out, you’re getting your rewards in forms of credits every year, rather than when you can claim them. This is why it’s important that you read into the fine print.
Are there any fees?
Many credit cards out there will love to tack on those fees that you don’t want. Make sure you look for maintenance fees, annual fees, and more. A good rebate card isn’t going to have any fees at all. As long as you pay it off in full all the time, you can really take advantage of saving at the gas pump.
These are all things that you should ask yourself when it comes down to getting a credit card that helps you save money with fuel. Ask yourself these questions and you should find a card that helps you save.
