With gas prices continuing to go up and then go down, no matter what the price is, it’s always best to save money on gas and one way to do it in today’s world is by using the Internet.  With so many websites out there, I’ve came up with 3 of my favorite websites that help show the cheapest gas prices in your area.

GasBuddy.com- GasBuddy.com is probably one of the biggest sites online when it comes to gas prices in your local area.  This site relies on users like me and you to input gas prices.  When you input a gas price, you will be rewarded with points.  With those points, you’ll be able to cash in and get prizes or enter yourself into a raffle. 

When you go to GasBuddy, click on the state you currently live in or want to see the cheapest prices, followed by your county.  When you arrive on your city’s page, you’ll see the station name followed by the price.

Mapquest.com- Mapquest is more than map today.  With Mapquest’s new gas pricing feature, you’ll be able to type in your address and it will pop up the nearest gas stations and their prices.  What I’ve found with this site is that you’re not able to see as many prices as compared to GasBuddy but it still gives you a good amount to get the idea of the prices in your area.

GasPriceWatch.com- If you’re not happy with the 2 mentioned above, you can try out GasPriceWatch but it’s not the best out of the three in my opinion but you’ll still get some prices in your area.  When I did a search in my local area, I was only able to get a few gas stations compared to about 20-30 that I got on the other sites.  I would use this as my last resort if you’re looking for cheaper gas.

With the Internet today, it’s very easy to find the cheap gas prices that you’re looking for.  Whenever you know you want gas, do a search online or if you have Mapquest for your phone, do a search on your phone.  This way, even if you save .15-.20 cents a gallon, it all adds up!
