A fuel filter is something that many people can install.  It really isn’t as hard at you think either!  I wanted to give you some pointers on what you’re going to need and how you can get started.  I will provide you with some links to some great guides, as well as the tools that you’re going to need.

When you’re ready to install a fuel filter, you’re going to need to the following supplies in order to get the job done.

  • The Fuel Filter: First of all, you’re going to need your fuel filter.  You can either purchase it online, or you can head to a local auto parts store.  You’re going to want to make sure that you get the right filter for your car.  If you purchase the wrong one, it probably won’t fit, or work.
  • Open End Wrench: This is the tool that you’re going to need in order to access particular parts underneath the hood.  If you don’t already have a wrench, you will most likely want to purchase on for future use or potentially borrow one from a friend or neighbor.
  • Eye Protection: Anytime that you’re going to work under the hood of your car, you’re always going to want to wear protection to protect your eyes.  You will never know if a wrench or a part comes flinging back up toward you.  Its always best to be protected.
