Getting The Best Deal on a Used RV
posted by FindGasCards.comAre you in the market to purchase a RV? Well, if I were you, I would heavily look into the option of purchasing a used one instead of a new one. Just like a new car, it’s going to lose it’s value right when you take it off the lot. Since RVs are going to cost you a lot more money, this is why you should at least look at the used ones.
Start your search online - The first step you want to do is by searching online for the RV you want. Sites like RVTraderOnline.com will help you find the RV you want. Look for at least 5-10 that you want and schedule an appointment to look at them.
Bring a mechanic with you - If you can, try and bring a mechanic with you to the appointment. It’s always best to have someone that knows a little something about vehicles. You won’t want to purchase a RV to find out later that it’s not going to run in a year.
Explore every part - A RV is big, let’s face it and there’s a lot of parts to it. Try your best and explore the outside and inside as good as you can. If there’s some interior damage, it’s just like a house, you can fix it down the road but if there’s exterior damage, you may want to look more into it because this is where it can hurt you.
Test the fixtures -When you’re inside the RV, test all the fixtures from the lights to the toilet. You want to make sure that everything works accordingly. If something doesn’t work, you may want to bring it to the owner’s attention but most of the time, the owner will let you know of any problems.
Get a value online - If you find five RVs online that you really enjoy, you may want to come back to all five and explain to them that you’re willing to put in an offer. What I would do is offer a low ball price to see who bites. Try 20% and see what most of them do. Out of the five people, you may get someone that bites on it. When it’s a buyer market and the economy is bad, you may find that you can get a steal.
When it’s a buyer market out there, you can get the deals. Do some homework and find the RV that works for you. Once you find one, offer a price and see who bites!
