We depend on the oil refineries to provide us with the gasoline needed for our vehicles. Oil refineries are much needed but often given a bad rap for some of the problems that have arisen from their practices.  It seems that they are blamed for many things that are not always within their power to change. We need the oil and it has to be transported when an accident occurs it causes a major eco catastrophe we often forget that even though it is the oil that is mucking up our environment during this time it is also the oil that we depend on for our vehicles, heating and other major resources to run our nation. The oil refineries are working constantly to help make oil cleaner and they are there first hand to clean up any oil spill.

Oil Refineries are proud to announce that they are working hard to tackle greenhouse emissions. The El Paso Corporation was proud to announce that they became the first natural gas company in the United States to join the California Climate Action Registry in 2006. This is a very distinguished group that shows their leadership by voluntarily taking action on climate change.  The refinery states that they will work very hard with the Registry to track report and certify their greenhouse gas emission nationwide each year. El Paso refinery is one of many types of finery that have jumped on board to help with this process making our eco system cleaner.

 This is a very important step for the consumer for different reasons one particularly in the effect that gasoline is used by most vehicles in the United States today. We need to be able to control the greenhouse emissions to help protect our environment but we need to have a fuel that is cost effective. It is very hard to operate a gas guzzling vehicle that is hard on the environment knowing that you soon will be out a fortune in fuel while destroying the very earth that you and your family depend on for survival. The oil refineries are showing their responsibility toward society and the preservation towards the earth makes it easier for the consumer. We need to be aware that even though there are hybrid vehicles on the market and many more to be added at the present time the majority of people still depend on gasoline for their fuel. Oil Refineries that are growing green is proof that they care about the consumer and the world in which we live.
