There are a lot of people that get car sick when riding in the car, are you one of them? If so, we all know it’s a horrible feeling and something we are worried about getting. Getting car sick makes us feel nauseous, nervous and feeling horrible. We are limited to what we can do and have to avoid doing certain things to make sure we don’t get car sick. - Avoid certain foods beforehand - Try to avoid any foods that are spicy, high in fat, alcohol or have a strong odor. This means eliminate all those foods that “don’t settle well or don’t agree with your stomach.”
- Listen to certain kinds of music - It sounds funny but certain music can make us feel agitated and uncomfortable in the car. It makes us irritable and feeling almost sick due to getting on our last nerve. This is very common when listening to other people’s music. Therefore, if you have someone else in the car try to listen to softer music or no music at all if you feel like you’re getting sick.
- Drink sips of water – It is always a good idea to take some sips of water here and there. This calms us down and makes us feel refreshed which helps eliminate motion sickness.
- Avoid certain activities – There are certain things like reading, playing games and focusing on certain things that make us sick. Try to avoid them and relax instead of focusing so much on one thing.
- Fresh air – If you feel like you’re getting car sick roll down the windows. Fresh air is very refreshing and helps get rid of that stale air that you keep breathing in.
- A smooth ride – Always try to have a smooth ride. We don’t tend to get car sick when we drive but when others drive. Simply let them know you get car sick so they can avoid hard stops, quick turns and so on.
