Is it time to try and sell your car?  Whether you are selling your car at a dealership or you’re going to try and and sell it yourself, there are a few things that you can do to increase your chances of selling it.  Below is a list of things you should try and do before putting that “for sale” sign up.  This list will make your car in the best tip top shape possible.  By doing these few things, more money will be coming your way!

Wash and dry.  You will need to wash and dry both the inside and outside of your vehicle with soap and water.  This is give your car a nice shine and whipe away all the dust and dirt.

Give your car a wax.  Get your cloth and load on the layer of wax.  Wait a few minutes and then whipe the waxed area clean.  This will make your car so smooth and shiny.  The more times you do it the better! So try giving it a second coat.

Clean the windows.  You will now want to clean the windows.  When cleaning make sure you use spray cleaner and a soft cloth.  This will get rid of those ugly streaks.

Clean the inside.  Now it is time to get rid of everything in your car.  Pull out the floor mats, get rid of everything in the back seat, and any item possible.  Now that your car has nothing in it clean the whole entire floor especially where the floor mats were.

Clean the seats.  If you have carpeted seats you should really use a vacuum to clean them up.  If your seats are really bad you should shampoo them also.  Now if you have leather you should use a nice protectant to make it look nicer.

Don’t forget the closed spaces.   Be sure to clean out your glove compartment, sides of your doors, back of the seats, trunk, and hatchback.  Vacuum those out and make sure there is nothing left in them.

Buff your wheels.  Make sure to shine your wheels.  Clean the rims and also buff your wheels to make them look newer and shinier!

Fluids. Make sure you top off most of your fluids and really you should get an oil change.  This will show the customer that you took good care of your vehicle.  If it is well over due they may change their mind.  They will think that you didn’t give it much attention, which then they will think that it will have problems down the road.

Yes, there is a lot to do when it comes to selling your vehicle.  Although this takes quite a bit of time, it will add more cash to your wallet.  Everyone wants to know that the owner before took good care of their car.   No one likes suprises down the road when they’ve already purchased it.  Take your time and make it in the best condition possible!
