How to Get Super Glue off a Car
posted by FindGasCards.comI know this title sounds silly but shockingly enough, people have come across this situation where they have accidental put super glue on the car, or have had some leftover from a project. After cleaning it with a rag, or some cleaner, you’re going to find that it’s going to be a little tougher than you think.
I wanted to give you a step by step guide that you can use, when you’re looking to get rid of super glue on your vehicle.
#1 Try nail polish remover - Nail polish remover is notorious for removing super glue from just about anything. What you’re going to want to do is dab a little bit on a piece of rag. Dab lightly and rub it away. You’re going to want to make sure that you get something strong, and nothing something cheap from the dollar store.
#2 Use your nail or a razor blade - Grab a rag and if you have longer fingernails, you can try to scrape it with your fingers. If your nails aren’t long enough, get a small razor blade. You’re going to want to be careful with this, because you may do some damage.
#3 Try polishing it - Grab some car polish and try rubbing at it. Start lightly and see if it’s making any difference. You may find that down the road, you’re going to need to get replacement paint to go over some spots.
#4 Try WD-40 – Again, you’re going to spray just a little bit on a rag. You’re going to then rub lightly in the spot. You don’t want to let it sit there, because you will soon find out that the paint will start to bond. This isn’t something that you want to happen!
#5 Head to a body shop - If you don’t want to deal with any of it, I don’t blame you! You can always call up a body shop and see what they can do for you. Many reputable places out there are more than willing to give you a free estimate. Something like this shouldn’t cost you that much money.
Test out some of the tips above. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it, then I would just recommend that get a professional to look into it.
