Winter can be a pretty time of year, but not when it comes to your vehicle.  You will notice that the salt starts to rust your car, your car takes a beating due to freezing cold temperatures, and the overall performance of your vehicle will start to run a little slower.  Winter is hard on cars, so if you’re looking to keep your car running and looking great, consider a few of these tips!

How to Make Your Car Safe for Winter:

Tune up – First of all it isn’t a bad idea to get a tune up on your vehicle.  Getting your car totally looked over can help prevent any future problems, and make sure there isn’t anything you don’t know about that could turn into a problem.

Tires – Make sure your tires are doing ok.  How is the tread on them, are they leaking at all or can they hold air?  Good tires are a must for driving in bad weather conditions. 

Emergency Items – Also, make sure you have all the emergency items you need in your car already.  These include things like blankets, coats, food, water, and handy tools.

Be prepared – Be prepared for the unexpected to happen.  Do you have a cell phone to call just in case an emergency, and do you have a number just in case your car dies or you get stuck in the snow?  These are things that should be thought about ahead of time and prepared for.

Wipers – Do you have a good pair of windshield wipers?  If not, now is the time to change them.  Snow builds up easily, and can make it difficult to see out your windshield.  Don’t take any chances, get a pair or wiper blades today!
