No matter what kind of car you have, you can never steer clear of the scratches. Whether it’s from a tree branch brushing against the car or a young kid playing games by keying your car, there are a few options that you can take in order to get rid of that scratch without having to pay a lot of money.
Look at the car scratch remover kits
There are a lot of kits on the market today and some of them are duds while other’s do a great job. If you’re looking to repair the scratch yourself, make sure you know if the product is worth getting. Look for reviews online and try and see if you can find some demos either online or in the store. A great place to start is by looking at my best car scratch repair kits post I made.
Try a how-to guide
If you’re willing to do it yourself without any of the kits, you may want to resort to some handy how-to guides on the Internet. A great article by PopularMechanics shows you how you can repair a car scratch yourself. Sometimes you may find it’s cheaper than getting the kit online. In fact, you may find that the items you need are right inside your garage.
Watch a how-to video
If the guides aren’t your cup of tea, you may want to try out some videos online that can walk you through it. I did some searching on YouTube and came up with these two videos that are worth checking out:
Resort to a professional
If none of the above sound like something you want to do, you may just want to resort to a collision shop. The price will depend on how much damage has been done. Some places can be cheap while others are expensive. This is why it’s necessary to do comparison shopping before you sign up with someone.
Repairing a car scratch can be easy or hard depending on how big it is. If you’re not that great with cars, I would just recommend you find professional help because you can do more damage than good. Scratches happen all the time and it’s important that you get it fixed now so that rust doesn’t form and cause even more damage.
