When it comes to our cars it seems like there is always something that needs attention of needs to be fixed.  Although, the reason why we dread this so much is because we either don’t know anything about how to fix it, or we are afraid to see how much the labor is going to cost.  If your car seems like it needs a new battery, we’re going to give you step by step instruction on how to replace it so you don’t break the bank!

How to Replace a Car Battery:

  1. First of all, open up the hood and locate where your car’s battery is.
  2. Now, disconnect the cables from your old battery first doing negative-black then doing positive-red.
  3. Next, remove the frame of the battery that is holding the battery in place.
  4. Are your cables dirty?  If so, be sure to clean them off with a wire brush, water and some baking soda before you replace the new battery.
  5. NOTE: If your cables don’t look like they’re coming clean or they look damaged, they will need to be replaced
  6. Now, replace the new battery, putting it into the same position as you had it before.  Be sure to line it up with the right cables.
  7. Connect the cables to the new battery, and make sure the positive is with the positive and the negative is with the negative.  Make sure these cables are tight with the battery.
  8. Test the battery out by starting your vehicle.
  9. If your vehicle doesn’t start, go over the steps for the second time and see what the problem is.
