In this economy, saving money is on every one’s mind but how can we save on everything?  Well, no matter what you buy in life, there are always a way to save and that’s why I always say that you should never ever pay full price.  Today, let’s take a gander on how you can save money with your automobile.

Keep your car well tuned:  When using your car, make sure that you always keep it tuned.  This means that you should get your oil changed every 3,000-5,000 miles, get your tires rotated every once in awhile and also make sure that you take your car to shop as soon as you can if you find out it has any sort of problems.  If you fail to do any of this, fixing it will cost you a lot more than if you prevented it.

Limit the usage with your car:  Do you find yourself driving to a lot of places you shouldn’t be going?  By limiting your driving, you’re going to save money on gas and wear and tear.  If you have to, try and car pool or take public transportation.

Get a car that’s cheap in costs:  Don’t go out there and buy a $35,000 SUV if your intentions are to save money.  Instead, look at how much you’re going to spend in gas each year, how much maintenance it may need (you can find this online) as well as how long this type of vehicle generally last.

Grab a car with a higher resale value:  Thinking of the future isn’t always bad.  When it comes down to purchasing a car, look into the future and see how much you’re going to get in return.  Yes, every car loses value as it leaves the lot, we know that but some cars are going to give you more back on your investment rather than others.  For example, just do a quick search on how much a 5 year old Toyota will sell for compared to a GM.

Watch your driving:  I know this one sounds kind of out there when it comes to saving money but your driving habits alone are going to help you save on gas as well as prevent yourself from getting a speeding ticket.  I’m not sure if you’ve checked out the speeding ticket prices in your area as of late but they are usually pretty high.

These are just a select few ways you can use in order to save money with your car.  As long as you take care of your car and keep it up to date, losing money should be the least of your concerns.
