Natural gas commonly referred to as methane comes from the manure of cows and is clean and inexpensive alternative to gasoline that comes from oil. Natural gas can be harvested from natural gas fields. It has been discovered that landfills are an excellent source of methane.  Vehicles are being produced that use natural gas because it has been discovered that natural gas is a clean, efficient product to use in the engine.  It is very easy to make the conversion of an engine that is powered by regular gasoline to one that will be powered by natural gas. Natural gas is easy to manage and found to be very safe to store. The average consumer would prefer natural gas to the oil refined gasoline when it comes to the odor and emissions submitted into the atmosphere. The cost behind natural gas production is not very high making it more desirable fuel for any vehicle.  You get better gas mileage and it is not hard on the engine or any parts to the engine which makes it one of the most leading products when it comes to the use in hybrid vehicles.

The next fuel that is similar to natural gas is propane. Propane on the market now for many years is very cheap to manufacture and it is one of the cleanest burning fuels in the market. Often propane gas is used to operate forklifts and other engine-powered equipment inside buildings. Propane is easy to store and is very safe. Many people use propane to cook with and heat their homes. When you think of summertime and outdoor BBQ’s you think of propane grills. Propane a leader in clean fuel and efficient burning is a leader in its own right as far as providing an alternative to oil refined gasoline. Propane is so safe that you can easily find containers in grocery stores and other places that consumers frequent often. The average consumer is use to propane therefore introducing hybrid vehicles on the market that uses propane fueled engines would not be a problem

The use of natural gas or propane gas in a hybrid vehicle would probably make better sense to the average consumer and be accepted more readily than some of the other fuels that are being newly introduced. People are often inclined to stick to what they know rather than make drastic changes that are why manufacturers of automobiles are seriously considering using natural gas or propane for the newest vehicles on the market today.
