Cell phones - One of the most dangerous things you can do when driving is talking on your cell phone at the same time. It is very common today that people talk on their cell phone, text, and use the Internet while driving. There is no safe way of doing it and it can be a very dangerous thing to do. Try to never talk on your cell phone unless it’s an emergency, and if you must try to pull over to the side of the road.
Radio - Try to always keep the radio to a comfortable volume. Often people get so caught up in the song that they look focus of the road. Also try not to play with the radio too much. Too much distraction from the radio can lead to a very dangerous effect.
Keep your distance - For some unknown reason people like to tailgate. When we drive so close another vehicle we are just asking for a car accident. You always want to make sure you have a comfortable stopping distance just in case the person ahead of you needs to slam on their brakes. Always be sure to keep this in mind at all times!
Speed - Try to always do what the speed limit signs require. Going too fast can easily cause an accident. When driving too fast we aren’t as aware of other cars and important objects on the road. Keep a safe speed where you can stop easily and focus on the road.
Stop lights - Always try to stop at the stop light if you notice it is turning yellow. Another dangerous situation is when people go through a red light. A car just automatically goes when the light turns green. Sometimes we don’t stop to think there may be a car delaying and going through a red light. If possible always stop at a yellow light.
Look first - If you’re at a stop light and the light turns green do a quick check for cars. Make sure no on is going through a red light. This only takes a second and can save your life!
Drinking - As always make sure you never drink and drive. There is nothing more dangerous than drinking and driving. This is one of the most selfish things a person can do. Always think of others and get someone else to drive. There have been too many bad accidents from drinking and driving so be sure you’re not the one causing them!
These tips are recommended for all drivers and are something everyone should keep in mind when driving. Make driving a safer by looking out for yourself and for others as well.
