This post may be out there and it may not entertain some but I really think you can apply these strategies for any car.  The reason I picked out the Smart Car today is because it’s a fairly new vehicle and a lot of accessories aren’t readily available for it.  One of those accessories are bike racks.  If you’re an avid outdoors person, you’ll probably want to take your bike to the parks and that.  Unfortunately with the Smart Car, it’s different than most of our basic cars.  How can you find a bike rack for this particular vehicle?

Check online specialty retailers

Websites like Amazon have hundreds of bike racks that you can look at that fit your vehicle.  Not only does Amazon sell these, there are third party retailers that will sell via them as well.  You should be able to find what you’re looking for and it will be at a great price.  I’ve bought a ton of things from Amazon in the past and it’s always been a great price.

Ask your local dealership

If you’re not having luck online, you may want to go back to the dealership where you bought your Smart Car.  Most of the times, they specialize with accessories, including bike racks.  If they don’t sell them, they will more than likely refer you to someone that will provide one.

Check out the local bike shop

No matter what kind of item you’re buying, you may want to go straight to the source.  This is why I recommend going to a mom and pop shop that specialize in something like bikes.  Ask them just about anything bike related and they should be able to help you out.  They will be able to tell you what rack you need as well as how much it will cost you and how to install it.   Since these places want business, they will do just about anything to get your business.

Again, you can use these techniques for anything when it comes to accessories and everything else for your car.  Try these strategies above and hopefully, you’ll be able to find what you need.
