SUVs vs. Vans – Which One Should You Get?

Is it that time to get a new vehicle? If so, we often have a few different vehicles that we’ll have in mind. If you’re a family that is just starting out, or if you’re a larger family, there are two great options you can go with. Most families choose between an SUV or a van. Both have great advantages, and they both have a few disadvantages, so it’s really up to you, and what your family wants. If you’re not sure what you want to go with, continue reading below to find out the advantages and disadvantages of both.
Vans:
Advantages –
- Vans have a great amount of room, and are very spacious.
- They tend to be more affordable than SUVs.
- They come with a lot of great entertainment choices and features for your children and yourself.
- Perfect for any size family.
Disadvantages –
- Vans usually aren’t the best on gas, and there aren’t many hybrids, or any if that.
- May be harder to drive than an SUV.
SUVs:
Advantages –
- The majority of SUVs have a very nice style and look to them.
- They tend to get better gas mileage than most vans.
- There are hybrid SUVs available.
- They are perfect for any size family.
- They have a lot of nice features for you and your children.
Disadvantages –
- They tend to be higher priced than vans.
- They may be more difficult to drive based on certain people.
As you can see, both vans and SUVs have their advantages and disadvantages. If you’re looking for one of these two and you’re not quite sure which one you want to go with, write out your own pros and cons to help you decide. Between the overall price of the vehicle and gas combined, they average out to be almost the same. So it’s up in the air, and needs to be thought out by you and your family.
