The Hybrid Car Club has selected the Tahoe made by Chevrolet as the outstanding car on the market going on sale in the first quarter of 2008 at around $50,000. GM is hoping that their newer hybrid vehicle will help them financially as the Toyota automakers had depending on the Prius. When GM executives saw the Toyota hybrid they claimed that their Tahoe was still in “development stages” and it is perceived that some of the technology already developed by the Japanese was being developed by the Americans about the same time. It is not unusual for one automaker to be developing the same plans based on basic conceptions that would work. The Tahoe originally was thought to be developed more on the mild hybrid system like the Vue Greenline hybrid but instead GM decided to develop the Tahoe hybrid as a full hybrid using its new dual mode technology.

Many who are watching the development of these new hybrids are most certainly glad when they see more and more automakers take the vehicles seriously making them” green” in technology. By “green” we mean they are eco friendly to the environment. This is very important because we seriously need to be aware of the fact that vehicles are the number one cause of part of the global warming problems. GM’s new technology consists of putting two electric motors mounted inside the transmission to assist a 300 horse-power V-8, so the vehicle will have the power that most large SUV consumers need. We realize that a lot of consumers need a lot of power in order to use their vehicle in a work performance situation. The hybrid club members try to watch that when this type of vehicle is being manufactured that it is done with great precision and remains eco friendly. Someone has to watch out for the consumer and the environment. This is truly a big job to do for anyone so it is no wonder that many have formed to create a hybrid club. It is said that this time let’s do it right. Over the decades vehicles have been put together by anyone who had a great idea. Most vehicles are gasoline run so it did not matter what they looked like because in the end gasoline would be the driving power. Now that the price of gas is high, we are threatened by the danger of global warming and the economy has gone to pot it is necessary to make sure that the newer hybrids will meet all the necessary requirements to fit the bill for everyone.
