The must haves for your new carWhether you purchased a car two weeks ago or two years ago, there are always those “must haves” that every car should have.  Now, I know this is all based on personal opinion but a lot of these gadgets and accessories can really spice up your car’s look, help you on the road or even assist you when you’re in trouble.

Airbags:  When it comes to one’s safety, airbags are extremely important, especially if you have younger children.  Research has shown that airbags can save lives during an accident.

Sunroof/Moonroof:  This of course, isn’t necessary but it’s a great option to have on a nice sunny day.  There’s no better feeling than opening up your roof and letting some fresh air in.

Air Conditioning:  I dont’ know about you but no matter where you live in the United States, you’re going to find some very hot days.  If you don’t have A/C, you may find yourself wanting to not be alive at the end of some driving day.  I recommend A/C 100%.

Power doors/locks:  Yes, there are still cars out there without the power features and you’ll pay less money.  You have to think down the long run though if you want to manually lock your car and roll up your windows every time.  It seems like a  little too much for me.

Back-up camera:  This option is fairly new but once you use it, you wont’ want to back up ever again without it.  With the backup camera, you’ll be able to back up viewing a camera as you do it.  This is a great feature for those bigger vehicles.

Heated seats:  If you live in a colder climate, you may find that your seat may be a little colder in the winter (especially if it’s leather).  With heated seats, you can kick them on and have a warm seat in no time.

A portable GPS:  If you’re the one that gets lost a lot and you go to strange places, you may want to consider getting a portable GPS.  These can be found for as little as $100.   If you do decide to purchase one, you will never get lost again.  Be sure to reference our great list of top 10 GPS units on the market today.

You’re probably reading these and thinking “wow, I don’t want any of this” and for some, I don’t blame you because yes, it’s going to cost you more but it’s all up to you on what you want and if you need.  Explore some of these options and see if you really need it for your car.
