The Reasons for an Over Heating Engine

Often a man has some kind of idea what the problem may be but for teenagers and the majority of women we’re clueless. A common problem that tends to happen when driving is an over heating engine. We see the steam cloud and automatically panic and think of the worst situation. Overheating is caused by anything that could minimize the way the cooling system is absorbing, or dissipating heat.
- First, always check to see if there is enough coolant/antifreeze in the radiator.
The reasons for an over heating engine:
- A leak in the coolant or antifreeze in the radiator. These are common and if it’s leaking you’re not keeping the proper amount of liquids locked in.
- A defective radiator cap.
- Poor airflow going through in the radiator.
- A collapsed radiator hose.
- A broken cooling fan.
- A loose water pump propeller.
- An old and scummy water pump propeller.
- Hot temperatures and an over working engine combined.
As you can see, there are several reasons for an over heating engine. Don’t panic, instead when you see this stop the car and call for help. Be sure to get a tow truck so you can get towed and don’t have to drive the car.
Driving with an over heated engine will only do more damage and it may not even be possible so be sure to not even consider this. There can be many consequences to an over heating engine so it is best to take it into the shop and let a certified mechanic check out to determine what the problem may be. Once they tell you why it occurred be sure you understand what happened that way if it happens in the future you will have some logic behind it.
