When the time comes to buy your first car, it is very exciting yet a little overwhelming.  Most of us have been saving our entire life for this time, therefore we want to make sure we find something that is worth our money, and something that will last.  If you’re looking to buy your first car in the near future, here are a few things you should consider when doing so.

• First, you should always think of the kind of car you’re looking for.  Meaning do you want a truck, car, SUV, etc?
• Once you figure that out, hop online and see what there is for that specific category.
• Now, do you have a certain car company that you’re looking to stay with?
• How about your price range you’re looking to stay in?
• Do your research and see which cars tend to last the longest.  This can be done by looking at message boards or car reviews.
• You can go online and look at all the cars for sale in your area.  Pick out a couple that you’re willing to look at.
• Never go with the first car you like.  Make sure you give yourself a few different options.
• Make sure you test drive, and look at the interior and exterior very well.
• Does the car have too many miles on it?
• Have a parent or guardian look over the car for you as well.
• Make sure everything works in the car.  Check the air, heating, radio, power locks, windows, etc.
• Also, a good thing to do is to check the oil.  If it looks good the person probably took good care of it.  It if it’s dirty, they probably didn’t take care of it too well.
• Find out whether the car has been in any accidents.
• Price compare the vehicle with others.
