  • Does the vehicle have any damage? 
  • Has it ever been in an accident?  (You can ask but to really make sure you can check out car fax.)
  • Is everything properly aligned?
  • Any major scratches, knicks or dents?
  • Do all the lights work including the blinkers?
  • How is the interior on the inside?
  • Do all the power locks and windows work?
  • Do all the doors open?
  • How are the tires?
  • How does the car look underneath?
  • Do all the accessories work?  Referencing to the radio, CD player, tape player, cruise control, air/heat etc.
  • How many miles are on the vehicle?
  • What does the car look like all shinned up and washed?
  • How does oil look?  If it really dirty this may indicated they don’t spend much time or thought on it.  If it is clean they most likely took good care of it.
  • How is everything under the hood?
  • Is all the paint the same color?
  • Any strange noises when driving?
  • Did you make sure you accelerated to about 80 mph to make sure it is ready for the highway?
  • How are the breaks?
  • Does the exhaust look and smell normal?
  • Does the engine idle smoothly?
  • How is the steering?
  • Are there any suspicious lights on like “check engine”?
