When you are buying a vehicle remain in control of the situation instead of letting the dealer take control. You cannot avoid the car salesperson because this is the means in which most vehicles are bought. You need to know all your facts, have your credit in tow, and make sure that you remain in control of the situation. Most car salespeople operate on commission basis that is why they drive hard to get you to take the vehicle at the price best suits them. You know what price best suits you and what they can do so keep that in mind when they try different stories to get you to buy.

Whatever you do make sure not to sign any agreement in a hurry because they are telling you someone is waiting for the vehicle. You need a co-signer make sure that you are both present when the credit agreement is signed. You need to watch out for the dealers who have the co-signer sign one agreement and you have signed the other. You will find that the title will come in the co-signers name and if the price has been increased the co-signer is stuck with the signed agreement. You should never let your co-signer go in and sign alone. This is an age old trick to get the co-signer to sign for a higher price than you agreed.

Use your body language to help get what you want that is very important. You do not have to remain calm show shock if the price seems too outrageous.  When you feel that you are being taken for granted does not be afraid to go someplace else.  Don’t be afraid to say something like “I’m sorry your price is just too high, or you will have to do better than that.” Then remain quiet don’t make another remark remember the first one to speak usually loses. Let the dealer make the first comment after that. The worse thing that can happen is the dealer won’t budge and you go to another dealer. You might find that you will have to split the difference in order to make the deal that’s perfectly fine.

Keep an open mind when you are going to the dealership in order to better take care of the situation. You might feel too intimidated to use some of these tactics but the experts claim that they are being used on you by the dealer. You need to be the boss when it comes to buying your vehicle!
