Why The South Doesn’t Care About Detroit
posted by FindGasCards.com
The southern part of the United States claims that Detroit automakers had there chances in the industry and now they blew it. The fact that automakers from countries like Korea are building plants in there hometown probably is the reason why there is no sympathy for the struggling Detroit Auto manufacturers. The main streets of some cities are busy with residents who are wearing a smile because plants are being built to make the new Kia hybrids that are predicted to be a hit in today’s market.
Many people around the nation do agree with the fact that Detroit in the past did nothing to make buying a car easier by reducing costs and limiting some of those arrogant CEO’s who make more in perks alone than most executive salaries run today. The south proclaims that they will not build there cars on fat labor contracts as they are working mostly as non-union. The sentiment is very low about giving sympathy enough to agree to a bailout for the Big 3 Automakers. It makes you wonder if the Senators from the south vote against the proposed bailout if Detroit will be able to pull out of there financial problems. The south noted for working there people without the support of the union has often gotten into trouble because of low wages keeping the people suppressed. The system that advocates not paying much to the labor does not help the economy. This type of philosophy actually is just another wedge that lessens the economy.
When you look at the history of the south in paying the people little to nothing for there wages you find that many have complained and left going to the Detroit area for better wages and a standard of living. These foreign countries may build a plant in the south helping the local economy but eventually they take the profit and go home even worse the people do not prosper because they are left with little to no income. Many times the southern spirit is dimmed with little to no hope for the area residents. We wonder how many times the south is wounded loosing its sons to the northern exposure because of lack of an income. When many of the southern families migrate to the north for assistance then it is time that the southern Senators wake up and pitch in to bail out the Detroit Manufactures they are the hope for America’s future. We know that few southerners are northern sympathizers but a multitude rely on the north for there existence and perhaps they should think about that before they make a determination about the bail out.
