There’s a saying that I have noticed around the Internet that states that women car insurance is actually cheaper than men.  While there aren’t a lot of stats to back this one up, it really comes down to your driving record, your age, and few other factors.   The gender really doesn’t play a role.

Now, you have to have to set aside the fact that you’re a woman.  If you’re a 28 year old Mom with the same driving record as a man that’s 28, you’re going to find that your rates are going to be almost identical.  Sure, there might be some shady companies out there that want to charge you a higher rate, but this isn’t always the case.

Regardless of what gender you are, you’re going to want to know how you can properly research your insurance.  What you’re going to find out is that if you come prepared, you’re going to be able to get the best rates possible.

#1 Make sure you compare at least 3 companies: Sure, you have the major carriers such as Allstate, State Farm, and other.  What you’re going to want to do is make sure that you get quotes from at least 3 companies.  You’re going to find out that many of them vary in quotes.  Try online services like Esurance that may have a lower rate.

#2 Look at your deductible: The higher your deductible is, the lower your bill is going to be.  What you’re going to want to do is know how much you can afford on a monthly basis in terms of your deductible, just in case something does go wrong.

#3 Combine your insurance: What you’re going to find out fast is that if you insure your home, boat, and everything else under the sun, you’re going to be able to get a discount.  Make sure that you ask your agent about discounts such as these.

Now, when you want to know what determines your quote, this is what I’ve dug up.  The following items are more than likely going to influence your car insurance quote.

  • Your credit score.
  • Your driving record (do you have an accident / speeding tickets?)
  • Your age
  • The make / model of your car
  • The benefits added on your policy

Do you homework and as a woman, you’re going to find that gender makes no difference.  Get a few quotes and see how they compare!
