Do your research

If you don’t want to apply for a business gas credit card just for the gas rewards, don’t worry.  There are a lot of credit cards out there that offer more than just gas rebates.  Some go as far as offering cash back on grocery purchases.  What you’ll find with solely gas credit cards is that you’ll get a better rebate usually.  This isn’t always the case but a majority of the times, it will be.

Always read the fine print

When doing your research, make sure that you read the fine print.  With a majority of the gas credit cards, you will find that they will usually have a high reward offer right off the bat.  You may find that they are offer ten percent off for the first sixty days but after that they are only offering three percent.  In the long run, you may find that this credit card wasn’t right for your business.

Ask around

Once you have your eyes set on one credit card, make sure that you ask around with family and friends.  A lot of the times, you may find that they have a card that is used solely for gas.  Even if they don’t own a business, a personal card will usually have a business credit card option.  Once you get a second opinion on your credit card that you’re looking at, go ahead and apply.  Depending on your credit history, you may be approved on the spot.

Once you get your gas credit card for your business, make sure that you start using it right away.  This way you’re not paying full price anymore.  Not only will this save your business a lot of money, it will also be easier to track your gas purchases.
