Since everyone has the goal to save money on gas prices, we are going to list the top ten most fuel efficient cars that are currently available.

1. Toyota Prius

It shouldn't come as a surprise that the very first car on the list of the most fuel efficient cars of 2007 is a hybrid car. The Toyota Prius is priced very affordably starting at $22,000 and offers 60 mpg on the hghways and 51 mpg in town. Put that together with the fact that Toyotas are known for the durability and you have a very nice car which you will have for a long time and will keep saving you money on gas.

2. Honda Civic Hybrid

Not to be outdone by Toyota, Honda has come out with a hybrid as well. The Honda Civic Hybrid is not quite as expensive as the Toyota Prius, starting at just over $14k, but the fuel economy is also lower when it comes to highway driving The Honda Civic Hybrid offers 49 mpg on the highway and 51 mpg in town.

3. Toyota Camry Hybrid

Starting at just over $26k, the Toyota Camry Hybrid has a roomy interior and good acceleration. With the Camry, you will get 40 mpg when you are driving on the highway and 38 mpg in town.

4. Toyota Yaris

Toyota Yaris is the first car in the top ten most fuel efficient cars that is not a hybrid. Despite the fact that it is solely gas powered, Yaris still offers 34 mpg highway and 40 mpg in town. At a price starting at just $11k, the Toyota Yaris saves you money when you purchase it, and keeps saving you money every time you fuel up.

5. Honda Fit

For those who want a fuel efficient Honda, but don't want to go with a hybrid, the Honda Fit is an excellent choice. With 33 mpg on the highway and 38 mpg around town, and a starting price of only $13k this car appeals to your wallet from the very start.

6. Toyota Corolla

Toyota Corollas have always been a big seller due to their reliablility, but not too many people are aware they are also very fuel efficient. They give their driver 32 mpg on the highway and 41 mpg around town.

7. Mini Cooper

When you see these cars on the road, they may remind you of matchbox cars from years ago. But these cute little cars are incredibly fuel efficient. They offer 32 mpg highway and 40 mpg around town.

8. Hyundai Accent/Kio Rio

Both of these cars boast a high enough fuel efficiency rating that warrants being in the top ten. They both offer 32 mpg highway and 35 mpg city driving. They both start at just over $10k.

9. Honda Civic

Like it's hybrid counterpart, the gas powered Honda Civic also offers wonderful fuel efficiency. It gives 30 miles to the gallon on highway and 40 miles to the gallon in town. Starting at just under $15K this car will appeal to most anyone.

10. Nissan Versa

Nissans have always been known as reliable cars, but the Nissan Versa puts reliability with an affordable price tag and fuel efficiency. At just over $12K, the Nissa Versa offers 30 mpg highway and 36 mpg city.
